Our vision is to fund and spend Zakat-Ushr, Sadaqat and other charities for the assured upgradation of economy of recipients and networking of new enterprises by lending a helping hand to poor and needy for their productive units. Furthermore, we aspire to transform the poor and needy takers into givers with the attainment of self-sufficiency and live a life with confidence and dignity.

About US

Aims, objectives and salient features

ZIST is an organization formed with a motive for planned collection and distribution of Zakat and Sadaqat, spending the same for more productive than consumptive purposes, handholding eligible recipients to help them come out of recipient status in due course and helping donors track impact of their contributions. It has identified certain enterprises such as sheep farming for choosing to transform eligible beneficiaries.

The poor and needy farmers rear sheep and in turn help other eligible farmers by sharing their profits from progeny with them. It is envisaged to bring poverty alleviation by networking of farmer groups helping one another. It multiplies the received Zakat and Sadaqat money through the trusted chain of recipients and as such helps to reach out to more number of beneficiaries from the same.

In Islam, giving Zakat and Sadaqah is not just an act of charity—it’s an act of worship that must be done with sincerity and wisdom. Allah (SWT) has specified those who are truly deserving of these funds, as mentioned in the Quran:

Zakat expenditures are only for the poor and the needy, and for those employed to collect it, and for bringing hearts together, and for freeing captives, and for those in debt, and for the cause of Allah, and for the traveler—an obligation imposed by Allah. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.
(Surah At-Tawbah 9:60)

Helping Others – A Lesson from the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

One day, the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) was sitting with his companions when a man came and asked for help. The Prophet (ﷺ) did not have anything to give at that moment, so he asked his companions if anyone could assist. A man stood up and offered whatever little he had. Seeing this, others followed, and soon, the man’s needs were fulfilled.

The Prophet (ﷺ) then said:

Whoever relieves a believer’s distress in this world, Allah will relieve his distress on the Day of Judgment. Whoever makes things easy for someone in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and the Hereafter. And whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter.
— (Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2699)

This beautiful incident teaches us the importance of generosity, kindness, and supporting one another. Even if we have little, sharing and helping can bring immense blessings from Allah.

Alhamdulillah, for many of us, Eid was a day of joy, family gatherings, and heartfelt celebrations. We hugged, feasted, and shared beautiful moments with our loved ones. May Allah bless our homes with peace, happiness, and barakah.

But as we rejoiced, did we pause to think about those who couldn’t afford even a simple meal?
Those parents who struggled to provide better food for their children?
Those who sat in silence, hoping for a knock on the door—someone to say Eid Mubarak with a gift of essential commodities?

Did we check on our neighbors and relatives? Were they doing well, or were they silently struggling?

As Ramadan nears its end, let’s reflect on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ)

1. Checking on Relatives:
The one who severs ties of kinship will not enter Paradise.
(Sahih Muslim 2556)

2. Caring for Neighbors:
Jibreel kept advising me about the rights of the neighbor until I thought that he would make him an heir.
(Sahih al-Bukhari 6014, Sahih Muslim 2625)

3. Helping the Needy:
The best of people are those who are most beneficial to others.
(Al-Mu’jam al-Awsat 6192, Hasan)

We still have time! If Allah has given us wealth and resources, let’s not waste the chance to earn rewards. Helping others is an act of worship.
